Use visual aids that your kids are already familiar with such as cookies, pies, pizza slices, apples, or chocolate bars to demonstrate fractions can help your kiddos easily visualize fractions and understand them better.

I’m a firm believer that kids learn best through play! Games are a great way to make learning fractions fun. There are many games available online that can help children practice their fraction skills while having fun at the same time. Some popular games include fraction bingo, fraction memory, and crazy fractions. We love using ABCya! Children also learn best when they can relate what they are learning to real-life situations. If you are a homeschooling parent, why not incorporate fractions into everyday activities such as cooking, baking, and measuring? This will help your kiddos see the practical applications of fractions and understand why they are important. At the same time, you will be teaching your kiddos life skills all while bonding with them!
4. Fraction Stories
Love telling stories to your kids? If so, then let’s get to work!
Create a story that involves fractions, such as a slumber party where the characters have to share the pizza or M&M’s equally. Then, have your students act out the story and use props to represent the fractions, such as paper pizza slices or M&M’s ( if allowed in your class and student’s diet.)
This activity helps students understand fractions in a real-world context and reinforces the concept that fractions represent parts of a whole.
