Too often, we see children teasing and laughing at others because they lack empathy. As parents and teachers, we can help cultivate empathy in our kids early on by teaching them to be understanding of the feelings of others. It’s only when our kiddos are encouraged to step into the lives of others that they can and will experience a sense of understanding for that individual’s situation and cultivate compassion for the said individual.

As a parent, I introduce honesty, respect, and responsibility at a very tender age to my two kids, demonstrating the correlation between their words, actions, and values.

As a parent or classroom teacher, you could cultivate integrity in your students through storytelling, role-playing, and reflective lessons. Thus, helping your kids cultivate honesty, respect, and responsibility for others and themselves.
