State testing can be a stressful time for both you and your students.
I’m 10000% sure that you would agree that after weeks of preparation and days filled with intense focus, your students deserve a break.
A break that still keeps them engaged and learning.
So, instead of allowing the post-test period to become chaotic or unproductive, why not provide quiet yet enjoyable activities that will help your students relax while still stimulating their minds?
Here are some fantastic quiet and fun after-state testing activities that will keep your classroom calm, engaged, and purposeful.
Fun After State Testing Activities
1. Summer This or That
This is the ideal activity for morning work after state testing. It’s also a fantastic way to get your students excited about summer while sharing their thoughts or opinions on whether they prefer ice cream in a cone or cup.
2. Brain Teaser Word Puzzle
This is the perfect brain teaser to keep your students’ minds sharp while allowing them to engage in quiet, focused fun. It’s ideal for helping your students build fluency in spelling and vocabulary.
So, here’s what your students need to do.
They are given a focus word – in this case, let’s say it’s – “achievements.”
Your students will then have to use the letters from the word achievements to create new words such as:
- achieve
- hive
- thieve
- chain
- chime
- ten
- hint

3. Summer Bingo Game
After intense days of state testing/end-of-year testing, this summer bingo game will unwind and fuel fun in your classroom.
