Explore these printable self-esteem activities for kids.
Not all kids have extraordinary confidence!
Some are a bit shy, unsure of how to react or interact with others.
And if I’m being honest, I was that kid.
As a teacher-mom, my goal is to raise kids who feel good about being their authentic selves. And since you’re here – I’m sure you feel the same way.
I truly believe that helping our children develop a strong sense of self-esteem and confidence is one of the most valuable gifts we can give them.
You see, a positive self-image will influence how our kids approach challenges, interact with others, and believe in their abilities.
So, if you’re an educator, parent, or school counselor looking for engaging self-esteem activities for your elementary students. These printable positive self-take activities are an excellent way to introduce confidence-building exercises in a fun and interactive way to your kids aged 8 – 12.
In this post, we’ll explore the importance of self-esteem, some fun and effective printable activities, and how you can incorporate them into your classroom or home.
Having said that. I’ll also introduce my self-esteem and confidence activities and worksheets that I designed to help kids develop self-esteem, a growth mindset, and a strong sense of self-worth.
Why Is Self-Esteem Important For Kids?
Let’s first take a look at how kids with healthy self-esteem approach things.
Kids with a healthy self-esteem often tend to:
- Feel more confident when trying new things
- Show resilience when facing challenges
- Express their feelings and needs effectively
- Have positive social interactions
- Feel proud of their accomplishments
On the other hand. I’ve noticed kids with low self-esteem often fear trying new things. Don’t want to take risks, give up easily, and/ or struggle with self-doubt.
This is why I strongly believe it’s crucial that as parents, teachers, and/or counsellors, we help our kids develop self-confidence early through positive reinforcement and engaging activities.

Once complete, they can hang their collage somewhere visible as a daily reminder of their awesomeness!
This simple yet powerful activity can help children visualize their strengths and build a strong, confident mindset.
7. Superpower Self-Portrait
In this activity, kids will draw a self-portrait but with a twist!
Instead, they can add a superhero costume and illustrate their personal superpowers.
These don’t have to be traditional superhero abilities like flying or invisibility. You can switch things up by encouraging them to think about their real-life strengths, such as:
Kindness – I have the power to make people smile.
Problem-Solving – I can figure out tricky situations.
Creativity – I turn ideas into masterpieces.
Empathy – I understand and care about others’ feelings.
After your kids are finished drawing. You can have them write a short paragraph or caption explaining their superpower.
This activity not only promotes self-expression but also reinforces a positive self-image and may help kids recognize the amazing qualities they already possess!

As kids navigate the maze to reach the heart, they will encounter positive mindset statements as they move forward. Encouraging a growth mindset.
9. 10+ What Would A Confident Me Do Scenarios?

It’s about knowing how to respond in real situations.
And that’s why I’ve included a set of activities so as to present kids with real-life scenarios where they must think through how to react with confidence.
