Early Literacy Printables Included
This free printable pack contains two parts that work perfectly together or on their own:
A one-page worksheet with a tracing and coloring focus. Followed by a cut-and-staple flip book for hands-on learning and word recognition
I have designed both activities to keep your child engaged while gently reinforcing phonics, vocabulary, and fine motor skills.
Okay, let’s take a closer look at these letter-of-the-week activities:
Letter N Worksheet (Single Page)
This “N is for” worksheet is the perfect warm-up activity. It introduces children to N words through tracing and visual association.
This printable features a traceable line that reads – ” N is for” followed by words such as note, nut, needle, and narwhal.
I chose these words to initiate curiosity and conversation.
You can ask your preschoolers questions such as, “What does a narwhal look like?” or “What kind of notes do we write?”. Doing so, you would be helping your child connect vocabulary to real-world knowledge.
Letter N Flip Book
This flip book adds an interactive twist!
This printable is made up of small, traceable “N is for” pages that your child will color and trace. You can then cut and staple together to create a Letter N mini book for them.
The flip book features the following N words:
-
Nest
-
Net
-
Nurse
-
Nine
-
Nose
-
Necklace
-
Nut
With two rectangles per page, it’s easy to print and prep.
The flip book can be used as a quiet-time activity, part of your morning routine, or as a tool for reviewing vocabulary at the end of the week.
Of course, if you’re short on time. You can use these printables as they are!

How to Use These Letter N Worksheets Throughout the Week?
If you’re wondering how to fit this into your busy schedule, here’s a simple and flexible plan for using these tacing letter N worksheets throughout your week:
Introduce the Letter N – Start with the one-page worksheet. Talk about each word and say it aloud with your child. Trace the letter N together, pointing out how it looks and sounds. Encourage your child to color the images and share what they know about each one.
Build the Flip Book – Spread out the flip book pages over a few days. Each day, pick 1–2 pages to work on. Have your child:
-
Say the N word
-
Trace the word
-
Color the picture
-
Talk about what the item is or where they’ve seen it before
This daily repetition helps reinforce both sound and symbol in a fun, pressure-free way.
Assemble and Review – Now it’s time to put the flip book together! Have your child help you cut the rectangles, stack the pages, and staple them into a mini book. Once complete, read through it together. Let your child “teach” you the words and sounds—this is a powerful confidence booster!
