Free Printable Mother’s Day Cards For Kids to Color
One of the easiest and most heartfelt ways for kids to celebrate Mother’s Day is by coloring a beautiful card.
These two free printable Mother’s Day cards will allow children to personalize their message with their own creative touch.
Card #1: Classic Floral Mother’s Day Card – This printable features a beautiful floral design with the words “Thank you for being the best mommy!” in bubble letters, perfect for kids to color in with their favorite shades.
On a side note – did you know flowers symbolize love, care, and appreciation—just like moms?
Suggested ways for you to consider how you can use this card.
- Print the card on cardstock or regular paper.
- Direct your kids to color in the design using crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
- Inside the card, they can write a special message for their mom.
- Write their name.
Card #2: Cute Rainbow-Themed Mother’s Day Card – This printable card has an adorable rainbow design with instructions on how to fold, cut, and color the car. It includes a blank space where kids can write their own personal message or even add small drawings.
How to Use:
- Print the card and fold it in half.
- Kids can color in the rainbow and words that say – “Happy Mother’s Day, I’m so lucky to have you!”
- Encourage your kids or students to write a note inside about why they love their mom.
Fun Mother’s Day Activities for Kids
In addition to the printable cards, I’ve also included two engaging activities that will help kids reflect on how much their mom means to them.
Activity #1 – Draw a Portrait of Mom – This activity is simple yet meaningful! Kids are instructed to draw a picture of their mom and add their own creative details. It’s a great keepsake that moms will cherish for years and perhaps show it to them when they are older. ( I’ve included this printable in black and white and color.)
Instructions:
- Print out the portrait template. (Choose either from color or black and white.)
- Guide kids to think about their mom’s features—hair color, eyes, favorite outfit, glasses, etc.
- Let them draw their mom and color it in.
- Encourage them to write “My Mom” at the top and sign their name at the bottom.
💜Why Moms Would Love This – It’s a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that reflects how their child sees them. Plus, it’s always adorable to see how kids interpret their mom’s appearance!
Activity #2 – Fill in the Blank – This writing activity encourages kids to express their love through a fun fill-in-the-blank exercise. It helps kids think about what makes their mom special while practicing their writing skills.
Worksheet Prompts Include:
- My mom is as sweet as _____.
How to Use:
- Print the worksheet and hand it out to your students or kids at home.
- Let them fill in the blanks with their own creative answers.
- Encourage them to read it out loud to their mom on Mother’s Day!
- They can also decorate the page with stickers, doodles, or hearts.
